A record number of more than 4,900 runners and walkers participated in the 13th annual Coldwell Banker West Shell Redlegs Run at Great American Ball Park, generating nearly $200,000 for the Reds Community Fund. The previous record was 4,381 participants in 2011.

Start time:
8 a.m. - All 10K participants and first 1,500 registered 5K participants *
8:10 a.m. -Remaining 5K participants **
9:30 a.m. - One Mile Family Run
10:15 a.m. - Gapper's Kids Fun Run

* Your official 5K start time of 8 a.m. or 8:10 a.m. will be printed on your race bib. To help with traffic flow, we ask that you start with your assigned group.

** If you are an elite 5K runner, you must be in the 8 a.m. starting group to be eligible for the top three 5K male and top three 5K female awards, as those are based on gun time. All other awards will be given based on chip time. (Qualifying times for elite classification are sub 18:00 for men and sub 22:00 for women.)

Course:
10K – The 6.2 mile course starts at Great American Ball Park, winds through downtown and finishes inside the ballpark near home plate.
5K – The 3.1 mile course starts at Great American Ball Park, winds through downtown and finishes inside the ballpark near home plate.
One Mile Family Run presented by UnitedHealthcare – The 1 mile course starts at Great American Ball Park and finishes inside the ballpark near home plate.
Gapper's Kids Fun Run presented by UnitedHealthcare – This course is along the warning track of the ballpark. Course Map Button

Registration Prices (thru 5/22 at midnight):
  • 10K presented by Trophy Awards - $42 (before May 23), $50 (Race Day Registration)
  • 5K presented by Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine - $32 (before May 23), $40 (Race Day Registration)
  • One Mile Family Run presented by UnitedHealthcare- $21 (before May 23), $26 (Race Day Registration)
  • Gapper's Kids Fun Run presented by UnitedHealthcare- $16 (kids 10 and younger)

All participants receive a race t-shirt (technical shirt for 10K participants), post-race party on the Kroger Fan Zone and one View Level ticket voucher for the Reds vs. San Francisco Giants game on June 3, 2014.

Starting 5/23 registration is only available at packet pick-ups and on race morning.

IPICO Tag Timing:

All 5K and 10K participants will be electronically timed. The One Mile Family Run and Gapper's Kids Fun Run are not chip-timed. However, there are race clocks at the finish line. Tags will be assigned at packet pick-up and verification will occur for those who pre-register.

Awards:
  • An awards ceremony and celebration follows the race on the Kroger Fan Zone at Great American Ball Park. The top three male and top three female 5K and 10K runners in each of the 14 age groups (under 10, 11-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, over 70) will be recognized.
  • The top three 5K males, top three 5K females, top three 10K males and top three 10K females will all be honored on the field during pregame ceremonies at a Reds game on Tuesday, June 3.

  • The top overall 5K male and top overall 5K female will each toss a simultaneous ceremonial first pitch at a Reds game on Tuesday, June 3.
  • The top overall 10K male and top overall 10K female will each toss a simultaneous ceremonial pitch at a Reds game on Tuesday, June 3.
  • Festive Fan - the participant with the most festive Reds attire will win four (4) Field Box seats for a Reds game on June 3, 2014. The "Festive Fan" promotion is open to all Redlegs Run participants over the age of 18. You are automatically considered for this award just by showing up on race day in your Reds regalia. The Cincinnati Reds will determine the "Festive Fan" winner in their sole discretion based on creativity and enthusiasm. All decisions of the Cincinnati Red Community Fund regarding the "Festive Fan" award are final.

PARKING OPTIONS:

Please give yourself ample time to travel to Great American Ball Park, find parking, and get to the start line. Traffic will be very heavy on the morning of the race. The Reds Community Fund encourages arriving early before the race and carpooling. Be early if you plan on parking near the start line. Roads surrounding Great American Ball Park will close approximately 15-30 minutes prior to the beginning of the race. Please be aware of the Course Map when looking for parking. Roads will re-open approximately 30 minutes after the last participant clears each race section. All roads will open no later than 10 a.m.

Central Riverfront Garage will be pay-upon-entry from 5 a.m.- 10 a.m. for $5. The Central Riverfront Garage is the garage underneath and west of Great American Ball Park.

  • From the South: I-75N to the 5th Street exit in Cincinnati. Right on Central. Turn left on West Pete Rose Way to access CRG.
  • From the North: I-75S to the Freeman Avenue exit in Cincinnati. Continue straight off the exit. Veer left on to West Pete Rose Way. CRG can be accessed from West Pete Rose Way.
  • From the North: I71S to 3rd Street exit (left side). Continue on 3rd Street off the exit. Left on Central. Turn left on West Pete Rose Way to access CRG.

Please note that Central Parking System manages the parking and onsite traffic operation at Great American Ball Park. Parking prices may be changed at any time without further notice.

FAQ:
  • Spectators must enter through the main gates of the ballpark at Crosley Terrace (corner of Second Street and Joe Nuxhall Way).
  • Strollers may be used but must be dropped off at Gate 2 prior to entering the ballpark to finish the race.
  • Due to the insurance constraints and location of the finish of the course, dogs are not permitted at the event.
  • Registration for the One Mile Family Run is for one (1) participant. Families must register each person individually.
  • 10K women's technical shirts are fitted.
  • Post-race party will occur in the Kroger Fan Zone. Activities include: music, face painters, food, and beverages.

Volunteer registration has ended. Thank you to everyone who signed up!

In order to maintain the safest environment for all participants, no bags will be permitted at this year's event. Runners/walkers are not allowed to leave personal items behind during races. We strongly recommend that you leave your valuables at home, in your car, or with a family member. All persons and carry-in items are subject to search. All unattended bags & items will be removed from the premises. Additionally, no firearms or other weapons are permitted at the event, including on the property of Great American Ball Park, parking lots and along the course of the Redlegs Run.

Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Sorry, no exceptions. This means once we receive your registration, you are unable to receive a refund if you cannot participate. This No Refunds Policy applies even if the Event is cancelled for any reason. If this occurs, your registration fee will be considered a donation to the Reds Community Fund to be utilized for one of their many outreach initiatives.
