White Sox claim Freddy Dolsi off waivers from Detroit

The Chicago White Sox have claimed right-handed pitcher Freddy Dolsi off waivers from the Detroit Tigers.

Dolsi, 26, spent the majority of the 2009 season with Class AAA Toledo, going 4-3 with 3.83 ERA (22 ER/51.2 IP) and 10 saves in 39 relief appearances. He also went 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA (2 ER/10.2 IP) in six games with the Tigers last season.

The 6-foot-0, 160-pounder is 24-20 with a 3.14 ERA (116 ER/332.1 IP) and 42 saves in 183 appearances (20 starts) over seven minor-league seasons in the Detroit organization. He signed with the Tigers as a non-drafted free agent on May 12, 2003.

The native of San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic has made 48 major-league relief appearances with the Tigers, going 2-5 with a 3.55 ERA (23 ER/58.1 IP) and two saves.

The White Sox 40-man roster is at 40.
