Chicago sports teams unite for charity race
02/03/2011 11:10 AM ET

CHICAGO - Three of Chicago's most successful sports franchises are teaming up to host the inaugural "Home Team Charity Run" on Sunday, April 3, 2011. A portion of proceeds from the race will be split among the respective charities of the Chicago Blackhawks, Bulls and White Sox.

The run, a 10K, will start at the United Center and finish at U.S. Cellular Field. Participating runners get to choose which team they want to represent and will receive a team-branded moisture-wicking long sleeve jersey.

Following the race, a post-run festival will take place on the grounds of U.S. Cellular Field where runners and guests can enjoy food and beverages, as well as performances from local bands, including Chicago singer and songwriter Michael McDermott.

Former Blackhawks, Bulls and White Sox players will be at the festival for photo and autograph opportunities, and 500 runners will be randomly selected to have their photo taken with the White Sox and Bulls championship trophies.
