With all the glitz and glamour (and pine tar and rosin) that the last installment of Opening Day has to offer, what often gets lost in the shuffle are the more touching moments that transcend the game.
This one will not be forgotten.
The Giants' first game at AT&T Park featured a first pitch that moved anyone who saw it. It was impossible not to applaud the entire Stow family, with Bryan on the big screen ceremoniously handing the ball to his son, Tyler, who in turn fired a perfect strike home to a rousing ovation.
Oh, and yeah -- Tyler fired it from the big league mound. No softball toss for this kid.
