Chicago White Sox Charities Mission Statement
Chicago White Sox Charities provides annual financial, in-kind and emotional
support to hundreds of Chicago-based organizations, including those
leading the fight against cancer or dedicated to improving the lives
of Chicago's youth through education and athletics.
With the generous support of White Sox fans, friends and sponsors, CWSC has donated millions of dollars since its inception in 1990, striving to improve the quality of life for Chicagoans of all ages, races and genders.
To the Chicago White Sox, winning goes beyond the baseball diamond
into the community. The White Sox and CWSC want to inspire, educate
and embrace Chicago to create a lasting legacy for future generations.

Scott’s Heroes – Monday, June 30, at U.S. Cellular Field
Scott Linebrink will host two individuals and their families from the United States Armed Forces. Scott provides each guest with a game ticket, t-shirt, and Comiskey Cash. Scott’s Heroes also attend batting practice, which includes a meet-and-greet with Scott.

IFI Essay Winner Recognition - Monday, June 30, at U.S. Cellular Field
The White Sox and the Illinois Fatherhood Initiative will welcome the winners of the 2008 Fatherhood Essay Contest, which annually attracts nearly 30,000 essays from students across Illinois. Essay winners will be recognized pregame.

Jermaine Dye Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago Scholarship Winners - Tuesday, July 1 at U.S. Cellular Field
In appreciation of the Chicago White Sox right fielder and former Boys & Girls club member Jermaine Dye's volunteerism with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago (BGCC), the University of Phoenix has established The Jermaine Dye Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago Scholarship Program. The program will enable qualified Club members who may not otherwise be able to attend college the opportunity to attend University of Phoenix. The White Sox will honor the 10 new recipients on the field before the game

Double Duty Classic – Saturday, July 7 at U.S. Cellular Field
This summer, the Chicago White Sox will host the first-ever Double Duty Classic – an event celebrating the history and tradition of Negro Leagues baseball in Chicago and promoting the next generation of inner-city baseball players. High school players from across the Midwest (Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Milwaukee and St. Louis) will participate in the All-Star showcase. The players will dress in uniforms honoring the Negro Leagues’ East-West All-Star Game.

Picnic in the Park presented by Bank of America - Sunday, July 20, at U.S. Cellular Field
Enjoy an upscale picnic on the U.S. Cellular outfield grass with current and former White Sox players, coaches and staff. The evening includes a silent auction of White Sox merchandise and memorabilia and is concluded with a signature fireworks display at dusk. Watch whitesox.com for more details.

American Red Cross Night - Monday, Aug. 18 at U.S. Cellular Field
The Chicago White Sox will recognize all of the American Red Cross donors and volunteers that have helped patients in need during a pregame ceremony at U.S. Cellular Field. The American Red Cross promotes blood donation, safety preparedness, CPR and first aid.

Buses for Baseball - Tuesday, Aug. 21, at U.S. Cellular Field
The White Sox and the Major League Baseball Players Association will provide game tickets, transportation and ballpark spending money for children from Holy Cross/IHM to attend the White Sox game and meet current players and coaches.

KinderVision - Sunday, August 24, at U.S. Cellular Field
KinderVision, a community service organization whose primary purpose is to “Protect families through education via a unique, proactive, video-based program aimed at preventing child abduction and child exploitation,” will produce free child safety I.D. videos for all children who attend the game. Scott Linebrink taped a Public Service Announcement in support of KinderVision to promote child safety.
