The White Sox will pay tribute to the historical team that broke the club's 40-year pennant drought with a special on-field ceremony. Tickets for the private celebratory reception honoring these renowned players are sold out. All proceed benefit Chicago White Sox Charities.

The White Sox and the Illinois Fatherhood Initiative welcomed the winners of the 2008 Fatherhood Essay Contest, which annually attracts nearly 30,000 essays from students across Illinois. Essay winners were recognized pregame.

ALS Awareness Night - Wednesday, July 8 at U.S. Cellular Field
July 4, 2009 marks the 70th anniversary of Lou Gehrig's "Luckiest Man" speech. The Chicago White Sox will recognize and support the fight against ALS, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, with a pre-game ceremony and the recitation of the "Luckiest Man" speech.

Jermaine Dye Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago Scholarship Winners - Wednesday, July 8 at U.S. Cellular Field
In appreciation of the Chicago White Sox right fielder and former Boys & Girls club member Jermaine Dye's volunteerism with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago (BGCC), the University of Phoenix has established The Jermaine Dye Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago Scholarship Program. The program enables qualified Club members who may not otherwise be able to attend college the opportunity to attend University of Phoenix. The White Sox will honor the 10 new recipients on the field before the game.

Double Duty Classic - Friday, July 10 at U.S. Cellular Field
The White Sox will host the 2nd Annual Double Duty Classic - an event celebrating the history and tradition of Negro Leagues baseball in Chicago and promoting the next generation of inner-city baseball players. The game will include inner-city high school players from across the country participating in an All-Star showcase. The players will dress in uniforms honoring the Negro Leagues' East-West All-Star Game.
This year marks the 76th anniversary of the first East-West All-Star Game, which was played at Comiskey Park in Chicago. An invitation-only forum will precede the game and feature a roster of speakers and prominent members of the baseball community.

Picnic in the Park - Sunday, July 19 at U.S. Cellular Field
Join White Sox players, coaches and their families for a unique on-field experience. Collect autographs from team members followed by an upscale picnic on the outfield grass. The evening includes a silent auction and concludes with a signature fireworks display. Tickets for Picnic in the Park cost $250 per adult and $125 per child. American Red Cross Night - Monday, September 21 at U.S. Cellular Field
The Chicago White Sox will recognize all of the American Red Cross donors and volunteers that have helped patients in need during a pregame ceremony at U.S. Cellular Field. The American Red Cross promotes blood donation, safety preparedness, CPR and first aid.
