To thank all the fans who participated in Tuesday's Twitter battle, we are offering specially priced tickets for the June 4 game vs. Cleveland.
Enjoy $10 off Lower Box, Lower Reserved and Bleachers as well as half-price Upper Box and Upper Reserved for Friday, June 4 vs. Cleveland.
The Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians are giving fans and followers of their respective mascots Southpaw and Slider the opportunity to go head-to-head on Twitter through a hashtag contest, as the two teams play each other in the series finale Wednesday, May 26 at 12:05 pm ET at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
The team to receive the most Twitter hashtags, #GoTribe or #GoWhiteSox, in support of the respective team wins. The losing team's mascot will then have to pay tribute to the winner prior to the teams' next home game, either Monday, August 30 at Progressive Field (7:05PM ET) or Friday, June 4 at U.S. Cellular Field (8:05PM ET). The losing mascot also will treat the fan who submitted the deciding hashtag tweet, along with three friends, to a pregame meal with either a Cleveland or Chicago theme to it depending on the outcome.
In addition, for each #GoTribe and #GoWhiteSox hashtag that is tweeted during the game, each team will donate $1, up to a total of $1,000 per team, to Stand Up To Cancer (@SU2C), a non-profit organization that raises funds for groundbreaking translational research to accelerate the delivery of new therapies to patients, getting them from the "bench to the bedside" as quickly as possible. SU2C brings together scientists from different disciplines across various institutions to work collaboratively -- rather than competitively -- at a critical time in the field of cancer research.
Fans are encouraged to re-tweet news of this twitter competition to anyone on Twitter. The contest begins with the first pitch on Wednesday and concludes with the last out.
