On Friday, April 1, prior to Royals Opening Day, more than 1,200 volunteers team up to help kids! Fans who donate can receive special editions of The Kansas City Star or commemorative World Series flags to help send kids to Rotary Youth camp and other children's charities.

The World Series flags will be available at the 20 Kansas City area Hy-Vee locations on April 1, from 6:30-10 a.m. for a $10 or more donation. Limited quantities are available at each store, so you will want to purchase early!

First Pitch Party at Union Station Celebration

The First Pitch Party at Union Station, located at Pershing and Grand, in Kansas City, will allow fans to purchase newspapers and flags, meet Kansas City sports celebrities and join others for the start of the new season. Photo opportunities will also be available with KayCee the W guy and members of K-Crew. In addition, an aerial formation flyover provided by the BeechNutz Flying Formation Group to take place over downtown.

Rotary Youth Camp:

Since 1924, more than 400,000 children with disabilities and disadvantaged youth have enjoyed a unique camping experience, free of charge, at the Rotary Youth Camp. Located at Lake Jacomo, the Rotary Youth Camp features cabins, tent camping, a mess hall, a nature trail and a wheelchair-accessible swimming pool that allows boys and girls with special needs to take part in outdoor activities. All services are available free of charge to campers and their sponsoring organizations.
