Comments: A veteran of the showcase circuit, Bolt's all-around tools have been on display for some time. A switch-hitter, Bolt has shown some ability to hit and with a little bit of power, though there's some stiffness to his swing at times. He can get himself into trouble when he tries too hard to muscle up. Bolt has good speed and is both an excellent baserunner and a defender in the outfield, with outstanding range and a very good arm. Though he's played well at the showcase events, they can sometimes lead an athlete to be a "showcase player," one who does well showing up tools, but not consistently as well in game situations. But with athleticism and some baseball acumen, there's certainly a lot to like with Bolt. A team that thinks it can help Bolt just go out and play will likely try to sign him away from going to North Carolina.
