Blake clutch for Tribe (0-1) (1-0)

Indians 10, White Sox 8

A renewed fight

Jim Thome started the '08 season off on the right foot, delivering two-run homers in each of his first two at-bats. After ace Mark Buehrle got knocked around for seven runs in the second inning, the offense and bullpen worked together to claw back before falling.

Tribe rallies late

C.C. Sabathia fell behind early but received an outpouring of support in a seven-run second inning, highlighted by homers from Franklin Gutierrez and Grady Sizemore. But it was Casey Blake's three-run, eighth-inning double that finally sealed the victory.
