Dear John: Sox grab a win (1-2) (2-1)

White Sox 2, Indians 1

Danks sets tone

Hungry for their first win, the White Sox turned to John Danks, who didn't disappoint. Danks didn't allow a hit until the sixth and surrendered only one run. Juan Uribe and Joe Crede provided the offense with solo homers in the sixth and eighth innings, respectively.

No sweep for Tribe

Locked in a pitchers' duel with Chicago's John Danks, Jake Westbrook blinked first. Westbrook didn't allow a hit until the fifth inning, but he ultimately gave up two solo homers before fading in the eighth and received just two hits in support. Ryan Garko had an RBI double in the seventh.
