No rest for weary White Sox

It's been a tumultous week for the White Sox that has seen rain delays, long games and day/night doubleheaders. Jose Contreras will step up to the mound to build off the momentum of Saturday night's thrilling win.

White Sox probable pitcher

Jose Contreras

  • RHP
  • (1-2) 4.68 ERA
White Sox: Contreras pitched well enough to win during his seventh career start against his first time from the Bronx. But he didn't pitch quite well enough to prevent a loss. The right-hander allowed four runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings, striking out three and walking one. He exited with two runners on in the seventh, but was charged with the loss when Bobby Abreu connected off of Octavio Dotel for the game-winning grand slam. Contreras has a 1-0 record with a 1.29 ERA in his one start at Camden Yards this season, and holds a career ledger of 4-4 against the Orioles.
