Twins: Livan Hernandez labored on Monday against the Yankees, but he worked himself out of trouble and kept his team in the game. The Twins ended up winning 6-5. The veteran right-hander went six innings and allowed five earned runs on 13 hits. Hernandez has now allowed 13 hits in consecutive starts. His next start will come at Chicago. He will look to get back on track against the White Sox, whom he pitched a complete game against on May 7. The Twins rolled 13-1. He scattered nine hits while allowing one earned run.

Buehrle stranded Gabe Gross at third, eventually leaving after six innings and 102 pitches with a no-decision. Buehrle allowed seven hits, striking out five, and moving within 15 of 1,000 strikeouts for his career. Maybe the Twins can blame it on the rain that was falling hard in Chicago at the beginning of the game as they were waxed by the White Sox. After a rain delay in the first, Livan Hernandez allowed four runs in the second and was pulled after allowing seven runs through four innings.
