MLB.TV Connected Devices FAQ

  1. How can I view MLB.TV games on a PlayStation 3 or 4?

To view MLB.TV games on a PlayStation system, you must have a PlayStation 3 or 4 system and be an MLB.TV Premium subscriber. To purchase a subscription to MLB.TV Premium, please click here.

To register your PlayStation 3 or 4 system for use with your MLB.TV Premium subscription, download the MLB.TV app from the PlayStation Store, which is listed under the PlayStation Network menu. You can access it by launching the PlayStation Store, within the store select "Apps" from the menu along the left side of the screen, then select "Sports." Choose the MLB.TV app and select to download it. The app is available at no charge. Let the download finish and then wait for the app to install. After the installation is complete you can launch the MLB.TV app from the "Video" menu on your PlayStation system.

After you have launched the MLB.TV app for the first time, you will be asked to enter your MLB.TV Premium login credentials in order to access live or archived games. Enter your credentials either by clicking on a live or archived game, or by clicking the "settings" tab. You can now access live and archived games via MLB.TV on your PlayStation system.

The MLB.TV app will launch to a listing of "Today's Games." You can go through this listing to select a game that you would like to watch.

When available, both the Home and Away feeds are listed. Once you select the feed that you would like to watch, if it is a live game, you can choose to watch it from the beginning of the game, resume from a point where you left off, or launch it to the current live action of the game. Archived games offer the "Beginning" and "Resume" options.

To select an archived game from an earlier date, press "Select." This will bring up a calendar view. In the calendar view, select any date you would like to watch, then select the game and feed from that date. At any time, you can press "Square" on your Playstation remote control to return to "Today's Games."

While viewing a game, press the "Square," "Triangle" and "X" button once to bring up the live event view. This view brings up the progress bar. Important plays with a brief description are shown, which you can scroll through using the "L1" and "R1" buttons on the PS3 remote control. Hitting the "Square" button twice will bring up a menu of video options including Select Feed, Select Audio, "Jump to Live," "Event Filtering," and "Help." "Select Feed" will allow you to select different video feeds of the game that you are watching, when available. "Select Audio" will allow you to select a radio audio feed of the game that you can listen to as you watch the TV Video coverage. "Jump to Live" will bring you back to the live action of the game.

"Event Filtering" will allow you to select from a listing of events that may occur in a game such as Home Runs, Stolen Bases, etc. You can then view these events in the progress bar.

If you are unable to view a game and see a message stating that you need to update your account information, go to the Payment Profile section of your account settings on MLB.com and enter the most current information.

While watching a live or archived game, you have the ability to skip to the next event by pressing the R1 button on your PlayStation remote. To go to a previous event press L1. "Help" will show a guide of what each button on the PlayStation controls within the MLB.TV app. You can also click triangle to access an on-screen menue anywhere in the app and access the "Games" tab, the "Calendar" tab, the "Stats and Standings" tab, and the "My Account" tab. The circle button will return you to any previous screen. Tapping down on the R3 button while watching a live or an archived game will bring up a carousel view of the events for that day. Use this feature to scroll through events and select other games from that day without exiting your video.

To quit the app at any time, simply press the "PlayStation" button your your control pad.
