We are particularly looking for SEAT VENDORS, who walk the stadium selling beverages and snacks. Vending is one of baseball's greatest traditions and is a great way to experience the excitement of every game.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities needed to be a Seat Vendor are:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age to sell food products
  • Availability to work 25 games throughout the baseball season, including nights and weekend and holidays
  • Self-motivated with a high level of self-confidence to aggressively sell assigned items
  • Ability to raise and project voice to market and sell product for entire length of shift
  • Superb customer service skills with a friendly, pleasant demeanor, as well as strong communication skills to communicate with guests
  • Basic math skills, so you can accurately account for cash and inventory
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, dependable and punctual
  • Frequent walking throughout venue for entire length of shift
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs frequently for entire length of shift

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Assist Digital Communications team in day-of-game tasks
  • Create relevant, timely social media posts for White Sox social media platforms
  • Approve social-to-screen in-game content
  • Edit pictures for social media platforms, provided by team photographer and MLB's real-time correspondents
  • Create or update graphics using Adobe InDesign or Photoshop
  • Assist MLB real-time correspondents in capturing photos and videos during batting practice, pregame ceremonies, and other special events
  • Request GIFs and videos from MLB.com for White Sox social media usage
  • Provide support in the #SoxSocial Lounge
  • Gather/compile stats, photos, videos and content for Inside the White Sox blog
  • Help with in-game Surprise and Delight moments
  • Monitor social media mentions in game


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate is pursuing a college degree in Journalism, Communications or New Media
  • Experience using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and After Effects
  • Experience with iPhone and DSLR photography
  • Well-versed in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, Tumblr, YouTube and Google+, as well as best practices for branded social media
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as baseball schedule demands

Gameday Intern, Game Presentation

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Game Presentation


Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation and activation of all game entertainment related to promotional activities, including theme nights and ticket sales groups (ex. Elvis Night and Heritage Nights)
  • Coordinate "Family Sunday" elements involving Game Presentation
  • Assist in the coordination and logistics of pre-game on-field activities between scoreboard personnel and on-field participants/performers.
  • Serve as the day of game liaison for celebrities, ballpark entertainment, and performers
    • Assist with logistics, hospitality, tickets, compensation, etc
    • Greet special guests and entertainment when they arrive at the ballpark
    • Assist with Gate 4 entertainers
  • Coordinate on field performances of National Anthem and God Bless America.
  • Assist in the development and handling of emcee.
  • Assist in the setup and execution of pre-game and in-game features with emcee.
  • Assist in preparation of pre-game and in-game PA scripts and binders.
  • Coordinate the set-up of all entertainment and departmental initiatives, including but not limited to:
    • Setting up tabling locations
    • Setting up 10x10 tents
    • Putting up poster stands
    • Autograph and photo stations
  • Assist with the Speed Pitch program
  • Upload Hero of the Game and first pitch footage to our website
  • Change starting lineup panels at Gate 4 prior to each game
  • Change dugout disks prior to each series.
  • Support the administrative needs of the department, including attending meetings, writing thank you letters, itineraries, memos, on-field and parking lists.
  • All other tasks as assigned by the Game Presentation department.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate is pursuing a college degree in Marketing, Sports Management, Business Administration or other related field
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic with strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Show initiative and be a self-starter
  • Computer skills - Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Event management experience a plus
  • Must be available to Work all 81 White Sox home games as needed

Photography Intern


Job Summary:
The Photography Intern will work closely with the White Sox team photographer on a variety of different assignments, ranging from PR and player appearances to ballpark initiatives, including capturing the fans experience when watching games. The successful candidate will have a strong online and/or traditional portfolio with specific emphasis on sports, action and personality photography. Experience in event coverage, from a branding and editorial perspective a plus.


Job Duties:

  • Shoot event(s) as assigned by White Sox photographer
  • Edit and complete all post-production work (using PhotoMechanic)


Requirements:

  • Degree (or currently pursuing) in photojournalism/digital photography; emphasis in sports photography desired
  • Must be proficient in Mac OS, Photoshop, PhotoMechanic, PhotoShelter
  • Nikon Digital SLR platform experience preferred
  • Must be available to work a flexible/variable schedule, including nights and weekends as dictated by the home baseball schedule
  • Ability work under tight deadlines
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic with strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have strong organizational skills with attention to detail a must
  • Baseball knowledge and ability to speak Spanish a plus

Social Media Lounge Ambassador - Day of Game


Job Responsibilites:

  • Assist with the day-to-day execution of social media promotions in the #SoxSocial Lounges
  • Take photos of various promotions, events and fans to be used in various social media channels
  • Work with Sox Pride Crew to execute pre-game and in-game promotions

Fundraising Seller


Job Description:
Chicago White Sox Charities, the non-profit arm of the Chicago White Sox, is looking for dependable, enthusiastic, highly-motivated, and hardworking game day sellers. Individuals will help sell for day-of-game fundraising initiatives including but not limited to: Sox Split 50/50 program, car raffle program, bobblehead campaign, silent auction and other miscellaneous events as assigned.

Sox Split is a charity raffle program whereby tickets are sold throughout the ballpark during every White Sox home game. One lucky fan takes home half of the net proceeds from that night's raffle ticket sales, with the other half benefiting Chicago White Sox Charities. The car raffle program, which also benefits Chicago White Sox Charities, offers tickets for sale online and in-park during White Sox home games. Fans purchase tickets for the chance to win a White Sox themed car at the end of the season.


Applicants must:

  • be 18 years of age or older
  • have good cash handling and customer service skills
  • be comfortable with technology
  • be comfortable approaching people and selling in front of crowds
  • be comfortable working in inclement weather (Guaranteed Rate Field is an outdoor ballpark)
  • understand the timing/pacing of baseball
  • be available to work games between April and October


Program Details:

  • Sellers start at $11.25/hour and work 3-4 hours per game
  • Opportunity to work 81 home games -- 70% night games/ 30% day games (sellers are not required to work all home games, schedule is based on seller availability)
  • Position is part-time (April-October)
  • Uniform is provided
  • Fundraising initiatives will run from gates open until the end of the 6th inning unless otherwise specified


Any new sellers are required to attend a mandatory new-hire training session. Date is TBD.

Fantrak - Day of Game


Overview:
FanTrak representatives are responsible for the in-park research/collection of data at White Sox home games. FanTrak research will be conducted at approximately 50 games during the 2017 season. FanTrak representatives are responsible for selecting participants on a random basis and asking them to complete a 3-5 minute survey. Typically, FanTrakers are required to complete about 35 surveys per game.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Applicant must be comfortable with technology
  • Excellent communication skills, must be comfortable approaching people and speaking directly with fans
  • Excellent customer service skills
