May 6, 1931 > Future Hall of Famer Willie Mays is born in Westfield, Alabama. After a brief stint in the Negro Leagues, Mays will make his Major League debut with the New York Giants in 1951. During a 22-year career, Mays will bat .302 and hit 660 home runs, the third highest total in ML history.
