Danks brothers leave Boras for Berry
Lefty John, seventh-round pick Jordan changing agents
CHICAGO -- In the course of analyzing a few high-profile picks from the First-Year Player Draft on Friday evening, White Sox general manager Ken Williams was asked if he expected problems signing seventh-round selection Jordan Danks.
"No, I don't," said Williams, continuing on, but choosing his words carefully. "I cannot expound on it."
That reason for optimism, aside from the White Sox already having a strong relationship with the Danks family, now has become a bit clearer. Jordan Danks was using Scott Boras as a family advisor before the Draft, and Boras also represented White Sox hurler John Danks. As of Monday evening, Boras no longer represented or advised either player.
A source close to the situation told MLB.com both John and Jordan Danks eventually will be represented by Jeff Berry, the agent for Mark Buehrle and Josh Fields.
