Rockies at the plate: Scott Podsednik had a solid day at the plate against his one-time White Sox teammate, knocking out a single in the first and launching an opposite-field double to left in the third. Clint Barmes added three hits, drove home a run and scored two runs. Jeff Baker was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

White Sox at the plate: Jermaine Dye ended an 0-for-17 streak with runners in scoring position for the White Sox over the past two days with a run-scoring single in the sixth. Chris Getz and Brian Anderson each added two hits.

Rockies on the mound: Jorge De La Rosa picked up where he left off last year at U.S. Cellular Field, when he held the South Siders to one hit over five innings, dominating the White Sox once again. The left-hander struck out nine over 5 1/3 innings, giving up one unearned run on seven hits.

White Sox on the mound: Mark Buehrle looked primed and ready for his seventh Opening Day start, allowing one earned run over six innings. The southpaw gave up five hits, striking out four and walking two.

Cactus League records: Rockies 14-16-1, White Sox 14-18-1

Up next: Wednesday marks the final home game on the 2009 White Sox Cactus League ledger, with the White Sox playing host to the Padres at Camelback Ranch at 3:05 p.m. CT. Clayton Richard, currently looking like a long reliever and second left-hander out of the bullpen, will make his eighth start of the spring. Richard didn't last one inning in his previous start against the Cubs.
