Chicago White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko has been named American League Player of the Week for the period ending April 29.
Konerko, 36, hit .435 (10-23) with three doubles, three home runs and four RBI in six games to win the award for the fifth time in his career and first since April 4-10, 2011.
The five-time AL All-Star hit his 400th career home run on April 25 at Oakland, becoming the fourth player in history to reach a milestone homer of 400 or more in a White Sox uniform.
Philip Humber was named AL Player of the Week for April 16-22 after throwing the 21st perfect game in major-league history on April 21 at Seattle. It marks the first time Sox players have won consecutive weekly awards since Carlos Quentin and Konerko to open the 2011 season.
