Michael Powell, head wrestling coach at Oak Park River Forest High School, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Powell is a powerful motivator and an inspiration to countless people, continuing to coach wrestling and stay active in spite of his debilitating muscle disease, polymyositis.
The Dragon, performing in Dreamworks’ HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON LIVE SPECTACULAR at the United Center July 25 – July 29, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Tickets are available at the United Center box office, through Ticketmaster or by phone at (800) 745-3000.
John Vincent from Chicago will perform the National Anthem.
After the game, fans will enjoy a spectacular fireworks show with a “Flashback 50s” theme, presented by Bacardi.

To celebrate Father Daughter Day, specially-priced tickets are available for Saturday’s game. In addition to discounted tickets, festivities include caricature artists, face painters and Southpaw at Gate 1 and a pre-game parade. Jimmy Pardo, comedian from Chicago best known for his weekly podcast "Never Not Funny," will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.
Shealeigh Voitl, 2011 winner of Radio Disney’s “Next Big Thing” talent competition from Bartlett (Ill.), will perform the National Anthem and God Bless America.
The first 10,000 children age 13 and under in attendance will receive a Baseball Card Pack, presented by Radio Disney.
Sunday’s Kids Day encourages kids to wear their favorite costumes to the game. Kids dressed in costumes can visit the Costume Party Area at Comcast Fundamentals and receive a prize through the top of the fourth inning. Tickets are available for $1 for kids 13 and under, with a fully paid adult, at the U.S. Cellular Field ticket window on the day of the game (subject to availability). Select players will be available for an autograph session at 11:30 a.m. Other special entertainment includes balloonists, caricature artists and face painters. Kids also will have the opportunity to run the bases after the game (weather permitting).
The game also is a throwback Sunday, where the White Sox wear red pinstriped throwback uniforms and red Sox caps, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the 1972 White Sox team. The White Sox will wear the throwback uniforms during every Sunday home game this season.
