Rangers Press Release
GilmanSound continues to enhance listening experience at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington
System Allows for Concerts Inside the Ballpark; Reduces Production Costs
The Texas Rangers and Los Angeles-based GilmanSound have taken another step in the evolution of enhanced audio technology for large stadiums by hosting a pair of post-game concerts in Rangers Ballpark using the building's audio system exclusively for production. The GilmanSound system provides the Rangers a "plug and play" solution for concert production without the need for audio equipment to be carted onto the field in support of a band's stage elements.
The Rangers will be hosting their third post-game concert of the season on Sunday, September 16, featuring Casey Donahew. The Rangers previously hosted performances by the band Reckless Kelly on June 30 and Radney Foster on July 28. In each case, a portable stage was rolled onto the field post-game and positioned behind second base. Once connections were made from the field to the sound board, the bands were able to take the stage and begin playing approximately 10 minutes after the game's final out. Use of the GilmanSound technology through the Ballpark's speaker system allowed fans to remain in their seats throughout the ballpark, as the audio quality is consistently exceptional throughout.
"We previously hosted pre- and post-game concerts outside our building on our north lawn. The set-up was extensive, taking several days of construction and countless man hours," said Rob Matwick, the Rangers' Executive Vice President of Ballpark Operations. "Utilizing Paul's technology has saved us about $25,000 per show in production expenses, keeps fans in their seats and delivers an outstanding audio experience.
"Chuck Morgan and his team provide a video feed of the shows to our scoreboards and televisions, so fans are getting the same level of service as they do in-game, even with the bands out in the middle of the field," Matwick added.
In addition to the success at Rangers Ballpark, GilmanSound was used on August 5 at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas for a soccer event featuring Real Madrid against Mexico.
"Paul Gilman provided his amazing audio technology to Sam Boyd Stadium for our soccer event on August 5th. One of our clients, Ruby Summer, who sang the Star Spangled Banner, could not have done so with the existing system. Thanks to Paul they sounded amazing. I can't imagine how Sam Boyd will be able to do without his audio system!" said Susan Joseph, CEO/Chairman of Justice Entertainment Group."
Installation of GilmanSound was completed at Rangers Ballpark in April of 2011, which was the second consecutive World Series season for the Rangers. GilmanSound is a new technology developed by Paul Gilman of Los Angeles-based GilmanSound, LLC. The technology has the ability to enhance any live streaming broadcast of an event. This patented method repurposes the existing speaker system and optimizes the sound delivery system. It enhances the audio, but it also pinpoints and solves problems in the existing audio infrastructure.
"In music production, a mastering lab is used after a studio finishes recording to prepare it for pressing to CD quality standard. As is a mastering lab for music, GilmanSound is raising the bar creating a higher "standard" for all stadiums," said Gilman, who has extensive experience in the recording business and is noted as a pioneer in helping to create Musical Interface Digital Information (MIDI).
Gilman has developed patented technology to improve the delivery of sound in mobile devices. He has other IP's that elevate the audio delivery system of large venues creating a more pleasing and musical environment for the fans than ever before. An award-winning composer, Gilman has written dozens of scores for both television and feature films and has produced recordings for such internationally renowned talents as John Phillips (with Mick Jagger, Keith Richard & Mick Taylor), Leon Russell and the Temptations.
GilmanSound is the most innovative arena and stadium audio engineering system, designed to completely transform the live venue experience for fans, athletes and musicians. Great audio has a way of emotionally connecting fans to a game or concert like nothing else. Fans will feel the game or concert in a whole new way. GilmanSound is an audio revolution...a "game changer". For more information, visit www.gilmansound.com.
