The White Sox recalled infielder Leury Garcia from Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday to replace Blake Tekotte, who was optioned to Triple-A following Wednesday's game.

Garcia, 22, was acquired from the Rangers on Aug. 11 for Alex Rios.

Garcia was batting .265 with four triples, four home runs and 15 stolen bases in 55 games between the Triple-A affiliates for the White Sox and Rangers this season. He has played mostly shortstop (47 appearances) but also has appeared in center field (six) and at second (two).

He hit .192 (10-for-52) with one triple in 25 games for Texas earlier this season.
