'D' is for Dyson: Leaping grab at wall robs Puig
Hosmer also helps Royals with diving play for out at first base
KANSAS CITY -- Royals starter Jeremy Guthrie benefited from a fantastic play by center fielder Jarrod Dyson in the fourth inning against the Dodgers on Monday.
Dyson used his elite speed to track down a Yasiel Puig drive to straightaway center that promised extra bases off the bat. But Dyson robbed Puig as he crashed into the wall at near full-speed, securing the final out of the fourth.
Guthrie also received a superb defensive play from first baseman Eric Hosmer to end the second.
Hosmer made a diving stop to his left on an Andre Ethier hot shot down the line, quickly rose and dived to the bag, narrowly beating Ethier for the final out.
