  • Blue Jays statement on Michael Burgess

    The Toronto Blue Jays express their sincere thoughts with the family and loved ones of tenor Michael Burgess who passed away at age 70 last night. Burgess played the role of Jean Valjean in more than 1,000 performances of Les Misérables at the historic Royal Alex and on tour across Canada. Burgess was the first person to sing "O Canada" at a World Series baseball game when the Blue Jays played the Braves in Atlanta in 1992.

    The TORONTO BLUE JAYS are pleased to announce the following players have been selected as this year's recipients of the R. HOWARD WEBSTER AWARDS, recognizing the most valuable players at each of the Club's minor league affiliated teams: 3B/1B MATT HAGUE (AAA), UTL RYAN SCHIMPF (AA), RHP WIL BROWNING (High-A), 1B RYAN McBROOM (Low-A), C RYAN HISSEY (Short-Season), OF RODRIGO OROZCO (Rookie Advanced), RHP JUSTIN MAESE (Rookie) and OF NORBERTO OBESO (DSL).

  • Blue Jays Roster Moves

    The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have reinstated RHP MARCUS STROMAN from the 60-day disabled list and recalled RHP CHAD JENKINS from Buffalo of the International League (AAA). To make room on the roster for STROMAN, 2B DEVON TRAVIS, placed on the 15-day disabled list on July 29, has been transferred to the 60-day disabled list.

  • Blue Jays announce 2016 schedule

    The TORONTO BLUE JAYS will open the home portion of the 2016 Championship Season on Friday April 8 at 7:07 pm with the commencement of a three-game series vs. AL East division rivals, the Boston Red Sox. The first homestand is a 6-game, 7-day affair that will also feature the New York Yankees (April 12-14).

  • Blue Jays roster moves

    The TORONTO BLUE JAYS, with the expanded September rosters have recalled INF MUNENORI KAWASAKI, LHP ARRON LOUP, OF DALTON POMPEY, RHP RYAN TEPERA and have selected the contract of LHP JEFF FRANCIS. To make room on the 40-man roster for Francis, LHP COLT HYNES has been designated for assignment.

Players selected include: Josh Burgmann (BC), Peter Hutzal (Alberta), Brett Esau (Saskatchewan), Victor Cerny (Manitoba), Andy Yerzy (Ontario), Mathieu Denault-Gauthier (Quebec), Dominic Tardif (New Brunswick), Nathan Livingston (Nova Scotia) Kyle Pinksen (PEI), and Daniel Rice (Newfoundland).     The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have claimed RHP DONN ROACH off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds. To make room on the 40-man roster the Blue Jays have transferred outfielder MICHAEL SAUNDERS from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list
