White Sox agree to terms on a one-year contract with Juan Uribe
tickets for any Major League Baseball game

CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox agreed to terms on a one-year contract with shortstop Juan Uribe. Under terms of the contract, Uribe will earn $4.5 million in 2008.

Uribe, 29, batted .234 (120-for-513) with 18 doubles, 20 home runs and 68 RBI in 150 games for the White Sox in 2007. He finished second among American League shortstops in home runs and fielding percentage (.976).

The 6-foot-0, 225-pounder ranks second among all AL shortstops since 2005 in fielding percentage (.976), third in home runs (57) and sixth in RBI (210). He also owns the best fielding percentage at his position in club history (.977), slightly ahead of Bucky Dent (.975) and Ozzie Guillen (.974).

Uribe, who recorded the final two outs of the 2005 World Series, has hit .251 (492-for-1,959) with 100 doubles, 80 home runs and 284 RBI in four seasons with Chicago (2004-07).
