The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Texas Rangers Minor League player Julio Gonzalez has received a 50-game suspension for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. The suspension will take effect at the start of the 2008 season.
This season, Gonzalez played for the Arizona Rangers (Rookie League).
