CHICAGO -- Prior to tonight's game vs. Minnesota, infielder/outfielder Alexei Ramirez of the Chicago White Sox was reinstated from the restricted list. Ramirez takes the roster spot of right-handed pitcher Adam Russell, who was optioned to Class AAA Charlotte following last night's game at Toronto.
Ramirez, 26, was placed on the Restricted List on May 2. He has played in 14 games with the White Sox this season, hitting .121 (4-33) with two RBI.
Russell, 25, was recalled from Charlotte on May 2 but did not pitch in the four-game series at Toronto. The 6-foot-8, 250-pounder has gone 1-0 with a 3.27 ERA (4 ER/11.0 IP) and 11 strikeouts in nine relief appearances with the Knights this season.
