CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox have returned Paul Konerko from his injury rehabilitation assignment to Class AAA Charlotte and have reinstated the first baseman from the 15-day disabled list. To make on the 25-man roster for Konerko, the White Sox designated infielder Pablo Ozuna for assignment.

Konerko, 32, was placed on the disabled list for the first time in his career on June 17 (retroactive to June 15) with a Grade 1 strain of his left oblique muscle. In four games with Charlotte, he went 6-11 (.545) with two doubles, three RBI, three runs scored and six walks.

Konerko has batted .215 (49-228) with eight home runs and 30 RBI in 62 games with the White Sox this season.

Ozuna, 34, hit .281 (18-64) with six RBI in 32 games with the Sox this season. He played in 208 games with the White Sox from 2005-08, batting .290 (155-534) with two home runs, 37 RBI and 23 stolen bases.

The White Sox 40-man roster is at 39.
