CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox have purchased the contracts of first baseman Brandon Allen and right-handed pitchers Jon Link, Jhonny Nunez and Clevelan Santeliz from Class AA Birmingham.

Allen, 22, combined to hit .278 (131-472) with 32 doubles, 29 home runs, 75 RBI and 87 runs scored in 130 games last season between Class A Winston-Salem and Birmingham. The 6-foot-2, 235-pound Allen led the White Sox Minor-League system in runs scored, extra-base hits (67) and total bases (262), ranked second in home runs and slugging percentage (.555), third in walks (60) and fourth in RBI.

He was named to the Carolina League Midseason All-Star team before being promoted to Birmingham. In his first game with the Barons on July 17, the left-handed hitter connected on two home runs off Montgomery's David Price. Allen, who was selected by the Sox in the fifth round of the 2004 draft, recently was named by Baseball America as the No. 4 Prospect in the Sox organization and Best Power Hitter for the second straight season.

Link, 24, was 5-4 with a 3.02 ERA (19 ER/56.2 IP), 66 strikeouts and 35 saves in 56 games with Birmingham in 2008. The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder led the league in saves and ranked third in appearances and was named to both the Southern League mid- and postseason All-Star Teams. Link, who was acquired from San Diego on July 31, 2007 in exchange for Rob Mackowiak, recently was cited by Baseball America as having the Best Slider in the White Sox organization.

Nunez, 22, split last season between Class A Potomac and Class AA Harrisburg in the Washington organization and Class AA Trenton in the Yankees system, combining to go 3-8 with a 4.41 ERA (51 ER/104.1 IP). The 6-3, 185-pounder was converted to a reliever in mid-July and posted a 1.65 ERA (5 ER/27.1 IP) between Harrisburg and Trenton. Nunez was acquired from the Yankees on Nov. 13 with infielder Wilson Betemit and pitcher Jeff Marquez in exchange for outfielder Nick Swisher and pitcher Kanekoa Texeira.

Santeliz, 22, split the 2008 season between Birmingham and Winston-Salem, going 3-7 with a 4.80 ERA (45 ER/84.1 IP) and 66 strikeouts.

With the moves, the White Sox 40-man roster is at 37.
