Chicago White Sox star Mark Buehrle, who pitched a perfect game on Thursday, presented the "Top Ten Things That Went Through Mark Buehrle's Mind During His Perfect Game" on the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN, Monday, July 27 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Buehrle, who got a hand with the presentation from teammates Josh Fields and DeWayne Wise, presented the Top Ten via satellite from the Metrodome in Minneapolis, where the White Sox will face the Minnesota Twins tonight.
Among the 10 items Buehrle presented include number 5: "Did I remember to TiVo 'So You Think You Can Dance'?"; number 4: "I'm leaving after the 7th inning to beat the traffic"; and number 3: "Should I shave my back?" Buehrle's entire Top Ten List can be seen on the LATE SHOW tonight (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
On Thursday, Buehrle faced 27 batters and threw 76 strikes out of 116 pitches in the White Sox's 5-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays, becoming only the 18th pitcher in Major League Baseball history to pitch a perfect game and also throwing the second no-hitter of his career. Assisting in his perfect game quest were Fields, who hit a grand slam in Thursday's game, and center fielder Wise, who robbed the Rays' Gabe Kapler of a leadoff home run in the ninth inning to get the assist in Buehrle's perfect game.
Also featured on tonight's LATE SHOW are actor Eric Bana, musician Dave Matthews and a performance by Dave Matthews Band, who are playing the first of two nights on the broadcast - they'll also visit the show on Friday, July 31.
