Jenks to DL; Carrasco recalled

KANSAS CITY -- Pitcher D.J. Carrasco will replace Bobby Jenks, as the White Sox officially moved their closer to the disabled list on Wednesday.

Jenks, who hasn't pitched since June 29, has left scapula bursitis, which causes pain in the upper back. He had a 1.95 ERA and 18 saves.

Carrasco started this year with the White Sox in Spring Training then went to Triple-A Charlotte. In seven games, one start, he has a 2.38 ERA.

Carrasco hasn't pitched in the Major Leagues since 2005, back when he was a reliever and starter for the Royals. During a three-year stint, he went 14-15 with a 4.81 ERA.

Carrasco played briefly in Japan in 2006 before signing as a minor leaguer with the Arizona Diamondbacks last year.
