De Aza hit on knee, but Ventura says he's OK
By Adam Berry / MLB.com
Manager Robin Ventura said De Aza was fine despite being hit "pretty hard" on the knee, and De Aza was walking around the visitors' clubhouse after the game.
De Aza reached on a walk and stole second base, his second steal of the game and his 11th of the season, then attempted to leap back to second base when Rays reliever J.P. Howell threw to second baseman Sean Rodriguez.
The throw was off, and the ball hit De Aza's knee as he reached toward second. He appeared to be in pain as he held his leg and rolled around on the infield dirt, but he eventually walked off the field.
De Aza was replaced by Brent Lillibridge, who was thrown out by catcher Jose Molina attempting to take third base on a ball in the dirt.
