White Sox announce Tampa Bay series activities

Chicago White Sox promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the final home series of the regular season vs. Tampa Bay.  

Tickets are available at whitesox.com, the U.S. Cellular Field ticket office and by calling 866-SOX-GAME.  Thursday’s game features lower reserved seats as low as $22 per ticket and bleacher seats for as low as $20.  The weekend games (September 28-30) feature lower reserved tickets for as low as $26 per ticket and bleacher seats for as low as $24.

The game on Thursday will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Chicago, with WCIU-TV broadcasting the game on Friday.  FOX (WFLD-TV) will broadcast Saturday’s game, with TBS and Comcast SportsNet Chicago televising Sunday’s game. All four games will air on WSCR-AM 670 (The Score), the White Sox flagship radio station, and on 97.5 FM ESPN Deportes, the White Sox Spanish-language radio affiliate.

Thursday, September 27, 7:10 p.m. vs. Tampa Bay

, a singer and songwriter who has toured with the likes of Dave Matthews Band, Maroon 5, Gavin DeGraw and had his songs featured on hit television shows One Tree Hill, The Sopranos and Scrubs, will perform a pre-game acoustic set on-field and the National Anthem.  Friday night, he and fellow Georgia-native Gareth Asher will perform at Space, Evanston’s premier music venue.

Secretary of State Jesse White will present White Sox outfielder Alex Rios with a special recognition in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month.

Friday, September 28, 7:10 p.m. vs. Tampa Bay

will perform an on-field set before the game and the National Anthem.

After the game, fans will enjoy a spectacular fireworks show with a Latin theme, courtesy of Miller Lite.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Night, pre-game entertainment will be provided by Ballet Folklorico de Santa Maria at Gate 3, Jose Valdes and the Mambo Allstars at Gate 4, Rio Bamba at Gate 5 and Los Perros Cubanos inside the Miller Lite Bullpen Sports Bar.
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Night, there will be a special pre-game ceremony to honor Private First Class Edward “Eddy” Cervantez, White Sox bat boy during the 1962 season, who was drafted to fight in the Vietnam War and killed in action.  All 14 of his living siblings will be on-field to accept a gift from St. Francis de Sales High School, Cervantez’s alma mater, and a special gift on behalf of the White Sox, presented by pitcher Hector Santiago and clubhouse staff member Ray Banda.

Lovehammers, the Chicago-based alternative rock group, will perform a pre-game set on the field.

Molly Roe,
a 13-year-old student at Saint Ann Catholic School in Lansing (Ill.), will perform the National Anthem.  

In celebration of Fan Appreciation Day, all fans will have the opportunity to win White Sox prizes, including autographed memorabilia.  “Lucky Sections” and “Rows of the Game” will be chosen at random throughout the game to determine prize winners.

The game is the 13th and final Throwback Sunday of the season, where the White Sox wear red pinstriped throwback uniforms and red Sox caps, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the 1972 White Sox team.  The White Sox have worn throwback uniforms during every Sunday home game this season.
