Joe Crede went 4-for-5 with two doubles and his career-best 23rd homer and drove in the go-ahead run with a 10th-inning single. Mark Buehrle pitched well for the first time in over a month, but registered a no-decision as the White Sox won for the fourth time in five games.
Odalis Perez pitched well, if only briefly, in his Royals debut for a no-decision. Reggie Sanders' two-run, first-inning homer made him the first player with double-digit homers in each of the last 15 seasons. That was all the Royals could get until Mark Teahen's game-tying, two-run double in the eighth forced extra innings.
