Jim Thome and A.J. Pierzynski each clubbed two-run homers in the fifth to give Jose Contreras more than enough support. Contreras dominated the first-place Tigers, tossing a three-hit shutout, as the White Sox chopped a game off of Detroit's American League Central Division lead.
