The annual Oakland A's Community Fund Golf Classic was held on August 21, 2014. Current and former A's players attended the event, which raised $100,000 for the A's Community Fund through the tournament, along with silent and live auctions. Next season's event will be held on May 14, 2015; sponsorship packages are not available at this time.
The 15th annual Root Beer Float Day will return on Wednesday, July 23 from 5:05 p.m. - 7:05 p.m. in the Eastside Club. Meet your favorite Oakland A's players, local celebrities, and various Bay Area radio and television personalities as they serve Root Beer Floats. Root Beer floats are $2 each and additional money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will be raised through tips given in exchange for autographs and photos with the celebrity scoopers. In addition, 32oz. mugs with unlimited float refills will be sold for $15 and a limited supply of 32oz. mugs autographed by Bob Melvin will be sold for $25.
Players and coaches scheduled to serve root beer floats: Bob Melvin, Chip Hale, Tye Waller, Fernando Abad, Ryan Cook, Sean Doolittle, Sonny Gray, Scott Kazmir, Jed Lowrie, Dan Otero, Jeff Samardzija, Eric Sogard, and Stephen Vogt. Players are subject to change.
Former players Jose Canseco and David Justice will also serve root beer floats.
Biz Markie, legendary hip-hop and beatbox artist, will make Zevia root beer floats for fans and will throw out the game's ceremonial first pitch.
Admission to the Eastside Club is free with your game ticket. Since 2003, the A's have raised over $353,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation through Root Beer Float Day.

The annual A's Breast Cancer Awareness Day has benefitted the American Cancer Society, Cancer Prevention Institute of California, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Over the past 16 years, this event has raised more than $1.25 million for breast cancer education and research.
Funds were raised through the sale of special ticket packages, commemorative pins, hats, pink jerseys, heart ribbon pendants, an A's autographed quilt raffle, and fan and sponsor support.
Pregame ceremonies featured over 500 Bay Area breast cancer survivors forming a symbolic human ribbon on the field in dedication of hope and survival, and the release of white doves as a symbol of hope.
In addition, as a part of "A Gift of Faith" grant, the A's donate $5,000 annually to a local charity in memory of longtime KTVU Channel 2 reporter, the late Faith Fancher.
In 2014 Oakland A's held the 16th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Day on Mother's Day.
On June 21, 2014 the Oakland Athletics will host the 2nd Annual A's Bowling Bash. The A's Bowling Bash event brings together A's coaches, players, and the community for a fun night benefiting the A's Community Fund.
Oakland A's pitchers Sean Doolittle and A.J. Griffin made the 2013 holiday season special for a group of deserving children at the A's Community Fund's annual holiday party at the Oakland Zoo, presented by Round Table Pizza and Aquafina. Doolittle and Griffin signed autographs and took photos with 200 students from Howard Elementary School in Oakland, a reward for the students' excellent attendance and classroom behavior. Every Saturday and Sunday home game (and select weekday games), the A's Community Fund hosts a silent auction featuring both signed and unsigned A's memorabilia as well as game-used items. The silent auction is located in the A's Fan Center behind Section 120 and ends with the last out in the bottom of the fifth inning.
During the 2013 season, various charity groups received a portion of the more than $50,000 raised as silent auction partners.
Proceeds from the auction benefit the A's Community Fund and various other local charities. Purchased items are tax deductible.
