Ben Broussard is excited about getting the opportunity to play regularly with the Texas Rangers this season.
After being used primarily as a reserve or platoon player with both Cleveland and Seattle, Broussard signed a one-year contract with Texas this offseason and will be the Rangers' everyday first baseman.
"Here I am in Texas, my home state, getting to play every day finally for the first time in my career," Broussard told MLBPLAYERS.com in a recent Players Talk show.
"I feel like everything's lined up at the time. I've been enjoying it, getting to know everybody here in Spring Training, getting my feet under me, getting my swing right where I want it to be and hopefully just taking it into the season for a good, consistent, healthy season. That's really all I can ask for."
In 2007, Broussard hit .275 with 29 RBIs in 240 at-bats with the Seattle Mariners.
