In 2005, former Pirates shortstop Jack Wilson hosted the first "Bowling with the Bucs" charitable event. It was a great night for Pirates' fans as they had the opportunity to bowl and mingle with Pirates celebrities in a laid-back, casual atmosphere, while raising money for local charities. In six (6) consecutive tournaments, over $125,000 was contributed to several worthwhile local, non-profit organizations!
The 2012 "Bowling with the Bucs" event was even bigger and better! The hosts were Pirates pitchers Joel Hanrahan and Chris Resop, and ALL proceeds went to benefit Pirates Charities and our VIP (Very Important Pirate) Parties. These monthly events held during the season at PNC Park will provide children in need with night at the ballpark in true VIP-style - complete with a private meet 'n greet with Pirates' players, a Pirates' jersey and promotional items for each child, a seat to watch the game in a World Series Suite, great ballpark food and beverage, entertainment and more!
The "Bowling with the Bucs" event is a family-friendly event and features - in addition to bowling - a silent auction, raffles and games. We hope you were able to join us!
