Peace Winds America (PWA) is a nonprofit disaster preparedness and response organization headquartered in Seattle. PWA responded immediately to the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami in northeast Japan, providing emergency supplies, transportation, and relief goods for survivors in evacuation centers and temporary housing. Currently, PWA's disaster recovery programs are revitalizing the fishing industry in Miyagi Prefecture. PWA is working with maritime vocational schools, fishing cooperatives, fishermen, and fish farmers to restore livelihoods and jumpstart the region's most vital industry. Donations from tickets purchased through this web link for Salute to Japanese Baseball Night will support the fishing industry in northeast Japan and help restart the wider regional economy.
